Employer Sponsored Visa

Employer Sponsored Visas

The employer sponsored visa allows employers who lawfully operate business in Australia to sponsor and employ skilled workers from overseas, who have recognised qualifications and skills or experience in particular occupations that are required in Australia. Australia is currently facing skills shortage in the areas of IT, medical professionals, engineering and more. There are majorly two types of visa applications- Temporary Skill Shortage visa(TSS): 482 and permanent visas: Employer nomination scheme (ENS)-subclass 186, and Regional sponsored migration scheme – subclass 187.

The 482 visa is a popular temporary visa among the employer sponsored visa, which allows overseas people to work in Australia for 2 or 4 years depending on the occupation and business sponsorship.

The ENS has been developed for Australian employers to recruit permanent, highly-skilled staff from overseas (or temporary residents currently in Australia), when they have been unable to fill a vacancy from within the Australian labour market or through their own training programs.

The ENS process has two stages:

  • nomination by an employer; and
  • the nominee’s application for a visa.

The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) has been developed for employers in regional and low population growth areas of Australia to sponsor highly skilled workers either from overseas, or from people temporarily in Australia to fill skilled vacancies in their business.

We assist both employers and employees in relation to the sponsorship, nomination and application of the visa. There are many other visa options available under these category, contact us for more details.
